We created Screepto because we wanted to revolutionize the writing industry and change the way stories are shared around the world. We are passionate about the media of film/tv, theater, and books as forms of storytelling that add color to the world in a powerful and impactful way. We were inspired by the synergistic combination of art and science as a creative force and the idea of Screepto grew from there. The stories people tell and create fulfill the creative force of Screepto, and the scientific side of Screepto is the revolutionary format of NFT’s as the avenue by which these stories will be shared with the world. The technology of NFT’s will hopefully secure the originality of the storyteller, protect their creation, help to directly involve the artist/writer with the final say on who will bring their work to life, and ensure that they will be rightly compensated for their talent and hard work while eliminating middlemen who may, unfortunately, put the creator last rather than first.

How Does Screepto Work?

Screepto brings writers and producers/buyers together:  a writer who wants to tell a story with their script or screenplay and a producer who is in search of good inspiring stories that he or she wishes to produce and bring to life. The scripts, screenplays, or books are uploaded as NFTs and connect the two parties when they wish to negotiate the selling of the work’s rights. The price, whether in regular money (fiat) or cryptocurrency (ETH), is negotiable between the two parties and it is up to them to reach a deal.  After the time period that is chosen by the producer/buyer of either 1,2,3 or 5 years is up, the NFT rights automatically return to the creator. It is also possible for a producer/buyer to acquire lifetime rights if the creator agrees. We connect them, secure the intellectual property as an NFT in our secure marketplace, and inspire them to create.  The Blockchain used for Screepto is the Ethereum Blockchain, which is considered the safest and most advanced.

How Will The NFT Format Benefit the Writer ?

What is an NFT?

The NFT (Non Fungible Token – which cannot be duplicated) is minted through a smart contract which assigns ownership and reassigns it when transferred or resold. At a basic level, smart contracts act as a tool to enable the execution of the sale agreement of the NFT.
